形態特徵

• Culms 1-2 m tall, 10-12 mm thick, trigonous, somewhat spongy, sides concave, smooth.
• Leaves 1.5-3 cm wide, mostly equalling culm, gradually attenuate upward, sheaths spongy, tightly surrounding culm base.
• Inflorescence with tertiary rays; rays scabrous on edges; spikelets 6-15 by 6-15 cm; bracts 3-4, longest to 50 cm long. Spikelets solitary, pedicellate or sessile, ellipsoid to oblong-ellipsoid, 6-10 mm long, 3.5-4 mm across, densely many-flowered, rounded, light rusty brown to dark brown.
• Glumes elliptic to ovate-elliptic, boat shaped, apex obtuse, ciliolate apically and on apical margin, keel green, margins rusty brown to dark brown. Achenes broadly obovoid nearly obdeltoid, 1-1.5 mm long, to 1 mm wide, compressed triangular, flat, reddish brown.

分布

• 台灣 : marine swamps in the south.
• 世界 : India, southern China, Bonin Is., southeastern Asia, northern Australia and Micronesia.
